Rolleiflex 2.8F film test.
This Rolleiflex 2.8F is one of the more sort after models,
it comes with a couple of issues though that need to be highlighted up front. I
gather it will be going on the shelf as is and at a reduction on the ticket to
reflect said issues!
Issue one – The light meter is not working! Not a big issue
for me as I meter off camera but quite an important thing for some.
Issue two – shutter speeds ¼, ½, and 1sec are slow by about half a stop. All others proved to be on the money. Quite easy to adjust for in the field, but not perfect!
The camera itself is in good condition and all but the above mentioned are worked fine and dandy. No light leaks, focusing is sharp and accurate. The frame of the post was shot wide open at f2.8 and maxed at 1/500th, the one of the viaduct was taken with the camera upside down, over my head looking over a tall wall BTW! Quite pleased with that one
I straightened and removed dust in lightroom, only minor
adjustments to levels were required. Over all a nice camera.
